The day I stopped fighting with seam tape in the summer
I was installing berber in Houston last July and the heat was making my seam tape curl before I could even get it down. After ruining three rows I finally called a buddy who said to stick the rolls in a cooler with an ice pack for 15 minutes before using them, and it worked like a charm. Has anyone else found a weird trick like that for sticky situations?

I heard some guys talking about keeping their tape in a little lunch cooler on the truck in the summer, just regular temperature not even ice, and it stays flat as a pancake. Never would have thought to tape it down cold like that.

Nah, I tried the cold tape trick once and all it did was make the adhesive brittle so it cracked when I stretched it over a seam. 90 degree heat with some humidity and that stuff needs to be warm and pliable, not stiff from a cooler.
