Spent 45 minutes fighting a power stretcher that kept slipping on tile, then realized I forgot to put the grip pad down

Had this exact setup in a house and kept kicking myself for running that tile carpet job without double checking the base, anyone else ever do that?

That "grip pad" bit got me too, same as @julia_lee said about forgetting the car keys. I always tape a spare set of grip pads to the side of my stretcher now, right where I'll see them when I pull it out. Saves me from having to backtrack to the truck or worse, re-stretch everything from scratch.

It's funny how skipping one tiny step makes everything fall apart, kind of like forgetting to lock the car door before getting out and realizing your keys are still inside.

Two months ago I mixed up my work badge and my apartment key fob. Spent 45 minutes in the hallway like an idiot because I couldn't get past the lobby door. The maintenance guy had to let me in and he definitely told the whole building about it. So yeah, one tiny thing and the whole day goes sideways. At least you didn't have to call a locksmith at 11 PM like I did last winter. Small comfort though.
