PSA: that one bowed floor joist in the Milford duplex cost me 5 extra hours
Pulled up the old padding and the plywood dropped almost 3/4 inch over a 4 foot span, so the stretcher kept popping the carpet off the tack strip no matter how tight I got it. Ended up floating the whole room with 3/8 inch ply patches and feather finish, and it laid flat enough that the homeowner never noticed. Any of you keep a long straightedge in the van for checking subfloor before you even start cutting?
