Heard a GC tell a homeowner 'we'll stretch it in' and my brain short-circuited

Was on a job Tuesday in Columbus, standing in the kitchen waiting on the homeowner to pick a seam placement. Their GC walks in, points at the 12 foot wide roll I just cut, and tells them 'we'll stretch it in, no seams needed.' I just froze. The room is 20 by 24 with a doorway jog, no way that works. I looked at my helper and we both nearly laughed. I had to pull the guy aside and walk him through the math, show him the width, show him the pattern repeat we were working with. He thought power stretcher magic could bend the fabric. Took 5 minutes but he finally got it. Made me wonder how many times GCs promise stuff like that without checking with the installer first. Any of you guys ever had a GC or PM say something that made you question whether they've ever seen carpet go down? How do you handle it without making them look dumb in front of the client?

Three GCs this year told clients carpet comes in 15 foot rolls. I just nod now.
