Had a customer cry over her carpet color choice last week in Austin
I was doing a living room install for this older lady in Austin and she kept watching me work. After I finished the first seam she started crying because she thought the color looked different than the sample. I talked her through it and she finally calmed down once the room was fully laid. Do you guys ever run into customers who freak out mid-install before seeing the whole picture?

People get so wrapped up in the small piece they forget how the whole room changes the look. It's like when someone paints a single wall and panics before the second coat dries. The lighting, the furniture, the other colors around it all make a difference. Once you let the whole picture settle in, it usually clicks.

At first I tried painting just one accent wall in our living room and it looked awful for like two days. The color felt way too dark and I was already regretting it. But once the furniture went back in and the rug was down, the whole thing tied together. Took about a week but now it's my favorite room in the house. You really have to give it time and let everything else around it do its job.

Omg right?? I did the same thing with my bedroom and legit thought I ruined everything for a solid three days. Now I can't imagine it any other way though.
