Pays for itself in carpet waste" - you're not wrong there. I remember watching my uncle try to stretch carpet with a knee kicker once and he had to rip up almost the whole room twice. That $200 investment sounds like a steal compared to that headache.

Nobody ever talks about how a good power stretcher basically pays for itself in carpet waste. You know how much extra carpet gets thrown away when people try to stretch with a knee kicker? It's like half a room sometimes. That $200 tool probably saved you from buying an extra 20 feet of carpet over the years. Plus you don't have to re-stretch the same spot three times like the rental ones make you do. Keep that thing oiled and it'll outlast your carpet.
