Took me 3 days to find out why my miter saw was cutting 1/16 inch off on every bevel
Last week I was trimming out a kitchen in Boise and every 45 degree cut on my crown came out just a hair short. I checked the blade, the fence, the detent plate, everything, and must have run 40 test cuts on scrap. Turned out the base of the saw was sitting on a tiny wood chip stuck under the front left foot, maybe a quarter inch thick. Once I scraped it off with a chisel, the cuts came out dead on. Three days of fighting a problem that took 10 seconds to fix. Anyone else got a dumb little thing like that which cost you way more time than it should have?
