Spent a whole day getting a cabinet door to hang right
I was putting a set of inset cabinet doors in a kitchen remodel. The first one took me maybe 30 minutes, but the second one just would not sit flush at the top corner. I kept adjusting the hinges, shimming the box, even sanding the door edge a bit. What should have been a quick job turned into about 6 hours of messing with it. The problem ended up being a tiny, almost invisible twist in the door frame itself that I only found with a long straightedge. What's your go-to method for finding and fixing a twisted door?

Grab my longest level and lay it diagonally across the door face, corner to corner. That shows a twist way better than checking the edges. If it's bad, I'll loosen all the hinge screws on the box side with the door propped shut, then tighten them back down in a cross pattern. Sometimes you gotta shim behind the hinge on the box too, like a sliver of cardboard.

That cross pattern tightening is the real trick.

Ugh, my cross pattern always ends up a lopsided mess.
