Spent $180 on a laser level that can't see in sunlight
So I bought one of those fancy green beam laser levels thinking it would speed up my layout work. Took it out on a sunny porch job last Tuesday and the thing was basically invisible past 6 feet. $180 down the drain unless I only work in dark basements, which hey, maybe that's my new specialty. My old $40 chalk line did the job fine and I was an idiot for thinking tech would save me. Anyone else get burned by a tool that only works in perfect conditions?
Used to roll my eyes at guys who swore by their old chalk lines, figured they were just stuck in their ways. Then my green beam did the same thing on a bright afternoon pour and I ate my words. Now I keep the chalk line in the truck no matter what.
