Saw a kid on a job site in Dayton last month using a laser level as a doorstop
Last month I was framing a garage in Dayton and this apprentice, maybe 19, pulled out a $400 laser level to check if a wall was plumb. When I asked where his 4 foot spirit level was, he said he didn't own one. Three days later I caught him using the laser as a doorstop to keep the wind from slamming the entry door. I get that new tools are cool but you can't skip the basics, that level won't teach you how wood moves with the weather. Anybody else seeing young guys jump straight to the fancy stuff before they can read a board?
