Poured a 12 ft landing slab in 98 degree heat in Phoenix and my tape measure melted to my hand
Worst week of my life on a job in Phoenix back in July. We poured a 12 ft by 8 ft landing slab for a deck stair and the thermometer hit 98 by 9am, so the mud set up faster than we could float it. My tape measure literally got so hot it stuck to my palm when I went to mark a cut, and my hammer handle felt like a frying pan. We had to pull the whole pour and redo it Thursday because of honeycombing on the face. Anyone got a trick for keeping tools cool enough to actually hold in that kind of heat?
