My saw blade gummed up and ruined a whole batch of cuts

I figured out that sap from untreated pine was the culprit, so now I wipe down the blade after every few passes to keep things moving smooth.

Have you tried rubbing a candle wax stick on the blade first? It creates a barrier so the sap doesn't stick as bad.

That wipe down method works but man, that's gotta slow you down a ton. Might be better to just seal the wood first with a cheap sanding sealer or even some shellac from a spray can. Tackles the sap problem at the source so you can just cut.

Sealing the wood first sounds great, but my whole process is now built around that sad little ritual with the rag. I've accepted my fate as a guy who stops cutting every three minutes to wipe pitch off metal like it's my actual job.
