Found a way to stop my circular saw from pinching on long rip cuts in Omaha last month

I was fighting blade bind on 12-foot cedar boards until I tried clamping a 2x4 as a guide rail the whole length and it never pinched once. Has anyone else used a sacrificial rail trick for long rips or am I late to the game?

Yeah that works fine. I do the same thing with a straight edge clamped on both ends and some wax paper under the saw base. The wax lets it slide without binding or burning.

Wax paper trick saves a lot of headaches with longer cuts.
