A guy at the lumber yard in Tucson told me finger joints are for cabinets, not door frames, and I think he is dead wrong
Hung 6 poplar doors on a job last month with finger jointed jambs and they have not moved a hair, even with the monsoon humidity swinging 40 points. Anybody else out there running finger joint stock on exterior walls, or am I the only one who thinks the old rule is just gatekeeping?
