Bootcamps are better than college degrees for tech careers" - you're not wrong, but only if you pick the right bootcamp. I've seen people drop $15k on a coding bootcamp and come out still not ready for a real job. The good ones though, they push you to build actual projects and get you ready for interviews fast. College is great for theory and networking, but you'll spend years in gen ed classes that have nothing to do with writing code. My advice is to look for bootcamps that have a career guarantee or a free trial period first.

That "spent years in gen ed classes that have nothing to do with writing code" part hit home. I paid for a whole semester of 19th century poetry analysis before I dropped out of college, and I still can't tell you a thing about it that helps me read API docs. The career guarantee thing is smart though, cause without that safety net you're basically gambling your savings on hoping the bootcamp doesn't just teach you to make a to-do list app and call it a day.
