Pro tip: I hit 50 rejections before my first real job offer

Everyone says to get discouraged after a few 'no's, but tracking every single one in a spreadsheet made the final 'yes' feel earned, not lucky. How do you handle the numbers game in a tough job market?

My 100 rejections just felt like noise, jason168.

Yeah, tracking the "why" behind rejections is key. My friend did that and realized most of his were because he kept applying for senior roles he wasn't ready for. He switched to mid-level jobs and got an offer in a month.

Tracking them in a spreadsheet is smart. Did you log just the company name and date, or did you add notes on why you thought you got rejected? Like, was it a skills gap or just a bad interview vibe? Trying to see if the data showed any patterns you could fix.
