My old boss told me "never take a job for the money" and I ignored him for 3 years
Took a higher paying gig at a startup in Austin and burned out in 8 months. Now I'm back in my field making $15k less but actually sleeping through the night. Anyone else follow bad advice and regret it?

lol yeah that "don't take a job for the money" advice always sounds good til you're crying in your car before a 9am standup. Burnout is real and it sneaks up on you. I took a $20k bump once at a SaaS company and ended up with chest pains from stress, doctors thought it was a heart issue at 28. Sleeping through the night is honestly worth more than any salary bump, learned that one the hard way too.

Man it's wild how we accept stress as just part of life now.
