My big client pitch crashed hard yesterday and I'm trying to figure out why

I spent weeks on a presentation for a new account in Chicago, but my main demo file wouldn't open during the Zoom call. I had to wing it with screenshots, and you could tell they were not impressed. Some people say you should always have a backup on a different device, while others think a simple outline is better than a flashy demo that might fail. Has anyone else had a tech fail during a key meeting and what did you do to fix it?

Man, the demo file not opening is the worst. I had a video freeze on the first slide of a big review once, just showing my face looking confused for a solid minute. Now I email the deck to myself, save it on my phone, and have a printed copy like I'm in 2005. It's overkill but I'm not getting caught like that again lol.

Bro does it really matter that much? It's just a slideshow lol

Like I'm in 2005" is a whole mood but honestly, is it worth that much stress? It's a slideshow, not a heart surgery manual. I'm with @the_wesley on this. Tech fails sometimes, you just say "welp, tech issue" and move on. People get it. Carrying a printed deck around just seems like you're planning for the apocalypse, not a presentation.
