For years, I thought reaching out to people in roles I wanted was just awkward and wouldn't lead anywhere. Last month, I finally tried it after a colleague pushed me. I sent a short email to a senior analyst at a firm in Chicago, asking for 20 minutes of her time. She not only agreed but gave me a full breakdown of her daily tasks and the exact software her team uses. That single call gave me more useful info than months of online research. Has anyone else had a good result from just asking someone for a quick chat?
