I finally stopped putting "proficient in Microsoft Word" on my resume and started getting calls
For about 6 years I listed every software I ever touched on my resume, including Word, Excel, and even Paint. Last month a recruiter in Austin told me she skipped my resume twice because that skills section looked like a joke. I cut it down to 4 tools I actually use daily and landed 3 interviews in 10 days. Turns out hiring managers want to know what you built, not that you can open a program. Has anyone else had a recruiter straight up tell them their resume was working against them?
