Heard a guy at a Denver bus stop say his job title got him the interview but his old boss's name got him hired
Last Tuesday I was waiting on the 15 bus in Denver and two guys next to me were talking about a warehouse lead job, and one of them said the only reason he got a callback was a former supervisor who picked up the phone when the new company called. That got me looking at my own job hunt differently, because I have been sending out the same resume for 5 months and getting nothing back. How many of you actually ask an old manager or coworker if they are willing to vouch for you before you apply, or do you just list them and hope nobody calls?
