Coworker in her 20s made me rethink my whole career path

Sat down with a new hire at lunch here in Austin, she asked why I'd stayed in the same industry for 12 years when I clearly hated the commute. She said she switches roles every 2 years on purpose, not for money but for learning new stuff. Made me realize I've been coasting on routine, and now I'm actually looking at a pivot. Anyone else had a younger coworker drop a truth bomb like that?

Thing is, I've seen folks bounce every couple years and never build anything deep... there's something to be said for sticking around long enough to actually master the job and the people.
