Wasted $400 on a transmission flush that killed my car
I bought a 2012 Honda Accord with 130k miles, clean title, drove smooth. The seller said it needed a fluid change but I ignored the warning signs. Took it to a shop in Austin last month and they did a full flush instead of just a drain and fill. 3 days later the transmission started slipping bad and now the car is basically a paperweight. I could have just swapped the fluid myself for $60 or left it alone. Has anyone else had a transmission die right after a flush like that?

Oof yeah that's a classic mistake. High mileage cars hate full flushes, should've just done a drain and fill. Sorry that happened to you.

I actually saw a mechanic on YouTube saying the same thing about older cars with high miles. The gunk in the transmission is sometimes holding it together, so a flush can just wash it all loose and cause problems. Drain and fill is way safer even if you have to do it a few times to get clean fluid.
