Spent 4 hours on a cracked dashboard before I realized the fix was $12

I was ready to junk my 2005 Civic over a huge dash crack until a guy at the Pick-N-Pull in Tucson told me to just get a dash cover from Amazon. Has anyone else wasted a whole weekend on something that had a cheap easy fix?

Tell me about that loose ground wire. Was it one of those things where you'd already looked under the seat twice and just missed it, or did you have to pull the whole interior apart before you even found it?

Man I feel this deep in my soul. Last summer I spent six hours tracing a electrical short in my truck only to find a loose ground wire under the seat. It took me longer to clean my tools than it did to fix the actual problem. The worst part is my wife kept asking why I was cussing at the dashboard like it owed me money.

The dashboard owed me money" is too real man. I had a buddy spend a whole weekend swapping out a alternator on his Civic three times before he found out it was just a corroded fuse. He said he felt like the truck was gaslighting him on purpose the whole time.
