My buddy told me to just scrub the rust on my 2002 Civic with coke and foil instead of fixing the quarter panel
He said he did it on his old Tacoma last year and it held up for 6 months, but now I'm wondering if that's a real fix or just a way to put off a proper weld job.

Coke and foil worked fine on my beater just don't expect it to last.

Hey @lindamartin, is it REALLY that serious though? I mean, coke and foil on a beater is fine for a quick fix but let's not act like it's some kind of long term solution. You're basically putting a bandaid on a bullet wound with that stuff. Sure it'll get you by for a little while but then you're right back to square one when it flakes off. People act like they found some miracle hack when really it's just a temporary patch that looks terrible after a month. If your car is a total junker and you don't care about resale, go for it. Otherwise you're just wasting time and money on something that WILL fail.
