Dropped $400 on a used transmission from LKQ and it died 3 months later
I bought a 2012 Civic with a bad transmission and figured I'd save cash with a junkyard swap. Paid $400 for one with 90k miles guaranteed to work, but the shop that installed it said it was already slipping when they test drove it. Their install fee was $700 so now I'm in it $1100 deep with a car that still needs a real trans. Anyone else get burned by a "low mileage" junkyard part before?

Nah I gotta disagree a little, $400 for a used transmission with 90k is already a gamble and most shops won't warranty a junkyard install for that exact reason lol.

Ngl, do you think paying more for a lower mileage one would actually change the shop's warranty policy?
