Warning: I just hit 50 rewatches of 'The OA' and it's a sign we need it back

My streaming app tracks rewatches and I hit 50 full series views of 'The OA' last week. That number shocked me. It means I've spent over 500 hours on a show with no ending. The story is too big and complex to leave on that cliffhanger. The fan base is still active, and Netflix has revived less popular stuff. Has anyone else's rewatch count for a canceled show hit a point that made you mad it's gone?

My friend's Hulu history showed 37 complete runs of "The Sarah Connor Chronicles." He just stared at the screen, then closed his laptop without saying a word. I mean, that's the real proof a show got cut down before its time. It's like the rewatch number itself becomes this quiet protest.

I read an article last year about the 'Anne with an E' fan campaign. They tracked over 10 million social media posts and raised money for billboards in Times Square, all to show Netflix the rewatch data was real. It didn't work, but it proved how those numbers turn into real world action. My own list is embarrassing, like 20 runs of 'Dark Matter'. That show ended on a huge cliffhanger and every rewatch just makes the lack of an ending more obvious. The stats page feels like a record of unfinished business.

Got to be honest, seeing those numbers just makes me feel sad. It's like watching someone keep going back to an empty fridge hoping for a sandwich. That energy could go into finding a new story that actually has an ending. Netflix looks at those stats and sees a finished product people already paid for, not a reason to spend millions more. Sometimes loving something means letting it go and moving on.
