Unpopular take: 'The OA' getting canceled was actually for the best
I know everyone loves that show and wants it back, but hear me out. I binged both seasons in like 4 days last summer during a heatwave in Phoenix, and honestly the second season got way too weird for its own good. Like the interdimensional dancing and the talking octopus? It felt like they were just throwing stuff at the wall. My buddy who works at a production studio in LA said the budget was out of control too, like over $10 million an episode by season 2. Has anyone else felt like some shows are better left as cult classics instead of dragging on?

I heard somewhere the second season cost nearly ten million an episode, which explains a lot.

Wait, do you actually mean that? I used to be one of those people screaming for a third season, but you might have a point. @haydenbutler mentioned the $10 million per episode thing, and that really stuck with me after I looked it up. Once a show gets that expensive, they either have to water it down for a wider audience or just keep doubling down on weird, and neither option sounds great for something like The OA. Sometimes it's better to just let a show stay a weird little time capsule instead of watching it turn into a mess.
