The one Firefly revival letter I wrote that actually got a reply from Fox
Back in 2012 I typed up a 2-page letter to Fox's programming department about giving Firefly another shot, but I focused on how streaming numbers were already proving demand. I included a specific statistic from an old Nielsen report showing the DVD sales hit over 200,000 copies in the first year alone. To my shock, I got a form letter back saying they'd 'note the interest' which I know is corporate speak but still felt like progress. Has anyone else gotten any kind of actual response from a network about a show, or is it always a dead end?

Yeah I wrote to NBC about Jericho back in 2007 after they cancelled it. Sent a whole packet actually - printed out forum posts, sales numbers from Amazon, even a petition with like 500 signatures from our local fan club. Got a form letter back too. Same corporate nonsense about 'taking viewer feedback seriously.' But that show actually came back for a second season a year later. Not saying my letter did anything but man it felt good to try. Your letter was on point with the DVD numbers though. Networks only care about money. You gave them proof.

You ever try sending actual nuts to a network? I'm half serious. When they cancelled Firefly, a buddy of mine mailed a single peanut to Fox every day for like two weeks with a note that said "you're nuts if you think this show is done." He got a cease and desist letter but hey, at least they acknowledged him. The Jericho thing was wild though, that fan campaign with the nuts was legendary. I remember buying two copies of the DVD set just to bump the numbers, one for me and one for my mom who didn't even watch it.
