Sat through a whole pilot that got canceled after 6 episodes - what a waste of a Tuesday night

I was curled up on my couch last week binge-watching "The Endless Summer" on Hulu, a show that promised beach drama but turned into a confusing mess about time travel, and I got so mad I actually yelled at my TV. Why do networks greenlight these half-baked ideas then pull the plug before they even figure out what they're doing? Has anyone else lost hours to a dead show that never got a proper ending?
