Rant: 'Pushing Daisies' got canceled way too fast and nobody talks about it
I rewatched it last month and forgot how good that show was - the colors, the narration, everything. It’s been 15 years and I still want to know what happens after that cliffhanger. Anyone else think Netflix should pick it up?

Pretty sure the writer's strike killed any chance of it coming back. ABC stripped the episode order way down during that season and by the time things settled everyone had moved on. Netflix could probably get the rights but it would cost more than they'd want to spend for a cult show with a very specific visual style.

23 episodes down to 13 in that first post-strike season, that was brutal. I always thought the show just ran its course and people lost interest. But seeing it laid out like that with the strike timing and the rights cost thing, yeah that actually makes way more sense. The visual style was so specific and expensive, I can't see a streamer paying for that unless it was already a proven hit. I guess I was wrong about why it died, it was more about bad timing than bad viewership.
