My 11 year old nephew made me rethink why I want a Veronica Mars revival
Last month I was going on about how the show deserved a fourth season and he just said 'but you already got one in 2019 and it was okay.' He wasn't wrong. I realized I was pushing for a revival out of habit, not because the story had anywhere left to go. Now when I argue for a comeback, I ask myself if the show actually has a new arc or if I just miss the characters. That changed how I vote in these polls. Has anyone else ever caught themselves backing a revival just for nostalgia instead of creative reason?
Honestly, you're overthinking it. People rewatch old shows all the time because they like the characters, that's basically the whole point of comfort TV. If your nephew liked the 2019 season fine, then maybe the real issue is you just need a new show to get excited about, not a moral test for every revival poll.
Ain’t that the truth, @spencer_dixon39? I once campaigned hard for a Firefly comeback, then realized I just wanted to yell “shiny” at my TV again. My husband still brings up the time I tried to draft a petition for Freaks and Geeks season two, like that was gonna happen. Guess my nostalgia’s got a stronger GPS than my common sense.
