The streaming execs would strip out all the soul and make it a generic space action show with no character depth. Catch the original while you can, it's the only version that actually works.

Yeah honestly I used to think they could do something cool with it, but @ryanh56 you kinda changed my mind. The original just has that raw feel that I don't think any streaming exec would let through.

Hold on, I gotta disagree a little. The streaming world is full of shows that are weird and character driven, like The Expanse or even early Mandalorian. A Firefly revival would only work if the right people with a clear vision ran it, not some committee. Whedon's style is a problem now, but someone like Christopher McQuarrie or even a Star Trek writer could bring that fun, messy crew energy back. The original is special, but a sequel series set years later with a few of the original cast teaching new folks could totally work if they didn't try to just copy the old show.
