I used to think 'Firefly' fans were just nostalgic until I actually watched it last month

My buddy at work kept bugging me to give it a shot for years, but I figured it was just another hyped up sci-fi show. Then we were stuck in the break room during a 3 hour power outage in January, and he pulled out his laptop and played the first episode. That scene where Mal kicks the guy out of the airlock in episode 2 is what got me. Has anyone else been convinced by a friend to give a canceled show a real chance?

Did you ever try watching the deleted scenes after you finished the show? The one with Wash and the dinosaurs in the cargo bay changes how you see his character. I managed to find a fan edit that put all the bonus material right into the episodes, and it made the whole thing feel way more fleshed out.

That airlock scene got me too. A friend basically trapped me at their place with pizza and the first three episodes and I was hooked by the end of the night.
