Everyone's wrong about 'The Society' needing a second season
I was at a fan meetup in Austin last summer. Someone brought up the show and the whole room agreed it deserved another season. I said the ending was a perfect, bleak cliffhanger. The mystery was the point. They all looked at me like I was crazy. I argued that a neat answer would ruin it. Has anyone else felt a show was better left unfinished?

Man, my friend got into a huge fight about this with her whole group chat last year. She kept saying the show "Dark" should have stopped after season two, that the last season tried to explain too much and it got silly. They all ganged up on her saying she just didn't get the complex story. Honestly, some stories are way more powerful when they leave you hanging and let your own brain fill in the scary blanks. A clean ending can totally wreck that good kind of mystery.

Totally get where your friend is coming from. Dark was already a mind-bender, and adding that whole other world layer in season three felt like it needed its own show. Sometimes the rules get so complicated that the emotional punch gets lost, you know? Like, you stop worrying about the characters and just try to keep the family tree straight in your head. The mystery of the first two seasons was way scarier because it felt like it could almost be real.

Seriously, it's just a TV show, not a life philosophy.
