My brother said one dumb thing at Thanksgiving and I wrote him off for 2 years, now I think I got it backwards
Back in 2022 my brother made a crack about my job at Thanksgiving dinner in front of everyone, and I didn't talk to him for almost two years. I used to think cutting someone off was this clean, strong move, like deleting a bad contact. Then my wife pointed out he had lost his own job three weeks before that dinner and never told anybody. Now I try to ask what's going on with someone before I decide they're dead to me. Where do you all draw the line between giving a family member room to be a jerk once and letting them walk all over you?
