The blog post that got me canceled by my own comment section
Wrote a hot take on a local podcaster's apology tour last month. Took 3 edits and 2 days of back-and-forth to realize the issue wasn't their words, it was everyone already decided the outcome. Has anyone else seen a cancellation spiral just because the mob got tired of waiting?

The 47th comment on that thread was when I knew it was over. Someone posted a screenshot of my fourth paragraph, cropped just enough to make me look like a fool, and that was it. Nobody read the full post after that, they just piled on because it was easier than thinking. The funny part is the podcaster never even responded, so the mob made up his anger for him. My own readers turned on me in six hours flat, and half of them admitted they only read the headline. Cancellation is just group impatience wearing a moral costume.

Man, that screenshot thing is the real killer, people trust a cropped image more than the actual words you wrote. It's like once someone gives them permission to be outraged, reading the rest feels like homework, so they just run with the easiest version of the story.
