Showerthought: I used to read the whole thread before calling someone out, now I judge from one screenshot
Last Tuesday I saw a 12 second clip of a chef I used to follow and typed out a whole post about how he was done, all before checking the full 40 minute video. Turned out the clip cut off right before he said the exact opposite thing. I used to dig through old tweets and articles for a couple hours before I decided a public figure deserved heat. Now the timeline moves so fast that I feel like I have to pile on in the first 10 minutes or my take is worthless. What do you all do to slow yourself down before hitting post on a cancel thread?
Bro this hits way too close to home. The part about feeling like your take is worthless if you don't post in the first 10 minutes is the real problem nobody wants to talk about. So here's my question for you: when you actually did slow down and read the full 40 minute video, did you go back and delete your post, or did you just leave it up and hope nobody noticed? Because I feel like the harder thing isn't slowing down before you post, it's owning up after you were wrong. I've seen people double down on a bad take just to avoid looking like they jumped the gun. What did you actually do with that chef post?
