Showerthought: I tried to cancel a local diner for bad eggs and ended up getting hired there

So I posted a rant on NextDoor about a broken yolk at Lou's Diner on 3rd Street, saying they should be canceled for serving cold slop. The owner, some old guy named Lou, actually replied and asked me to come in and prove I could do better. I showed up the next day, and he handed me an apron and said 'get cracking.' I ended up working the breakfast shift for 4 months, mostly because I respected his hustle. Lesson learned: sometimes calling someone out just gets you a job offer, not an apology. Has anyone else gotten an unexpected result from trying to cancel something?

Cancel someone" usually means exposing real harm, not just bad eggs.

Wait, he just handed you an apron and said "get cracking" - like a literal egg pun? That's wild. I can't believe he made you work a full shift after you showed up just to complain about a yolk. Did he at least pay you for those 4 months or was it like an unpaid internship in breakfast sandwiches?
