Shoutout to the people who defended that author from the 90s

I had to pick between signing a petition to get her old books pulled or just ignoring the whole thing. I chose to ignore it because her problematic novel from 1998 is a product of its time, not a guide for today. The online mob wanted her gone, but I think we lose important context when we erase past work. Has anyone else refused to join a cancellation campaign for an older creator?

Groupthink" is a strong word for a book club not liking a movie. It sounds more like they just had a bad take and got carried away. My friend was smart to walk away from that.
