My kid asked me why a comedian from the 90s isn't on TV anymore
We were watching an old clip of Bill Cosby's stand-up, and she asked why he isn't on any of the streaming services. I had to explain the whole trial and the shift in how we view people's work now versus back then. It made me think about how we used to just separate the art from the artist without much debate. Do you think that separation is even possible now, or has that ship sailed for good?

Separating art from artists feels impossible once you know what they did.

Honestly, how do you even do that? Tbh I tried listening to a band I loved after finding out some messed up stuff and I just kept picturing their faces. It ruins the whole vibe for me now. Ngl I wish I could just enjoy the music without the baggage. Maybe it's a good thing we can't fully separate them, it keeps us from supporting bad people. But man, it sucks when your favorite song gets tainted.

Try listening to covers by other artists. Sometimes hearing the song without their voice helps. I had to do that with a few albums after some news broke.
