Traded my heavy coleman for a hammock setup after 3 nights in the sierras

My back just couldn't take lugging that 8 pound tent up the switchbacks anymore... so I went with a $60 hammock and a tarp instead. First night was cold but after I figured out the underquilt trick it was way better. Anyone else make the switch from ground sleeping to hanging?

The underquilt tip makes all the difference, people freeze without it. A simple reflectix pad inside the hammock also helps on those extra cold nights. Just watch your tree straps, some places get picky about that.

Wait, you're telling me there's people out there actually getting picky about how I murder their trees?
