Tarp ridgeline trick failed me in a rainstorm last month

Everyone online swears by the taut line hitch with a trucker's bend for tarps, but mine slipped all night during that downpour near Lake Wenatchee. I set it up exactly like the video showed, 10 feet between trees, and still woke up with a puddle in my sleeping bag corner. Turns out wet paracord stretches way more than dry, and my webbing straps would've held better. Has anyone actually tested this method in steady rain, or just in their backyard on sunny days?
