My Jetboil stove melted its own handle on a trip two weeks ago
I was making coffee near Moab and the plastic handle just sagged right off while the burner was going. Had to wrap a bandana around the pot to pour it. Has anyone else had this issue with newer Jetboil models?

Yeah, you said "plastic handle" and I gotta gently push back on that. The handles on Jetboils aren't really plastic, they're some kind of nylon or polypropylene blend that's supposed to handle heat. But in my experience, that stuff can still get soft if the heat reflects back up from the burner too much, especially in windy conditions like around Moab. I've seen it happen with my older model when I had it sitting on a rock that trapped heat underneath. It's more about the heat getting trapped than the material being cheap, your mileage may vary though. Might be worth reaching out to Jetboil support, they've sent me replacement parts before when I had issues.
