Just saw the weight difference between a cheap and mid-range sleeping bag and I'm shook

I was looking up review specs for a 3 season bag on the REI site last night and noticed my old Ozark Trail bag weighs 4.8 pounds while a comparable Kelty Cosmic weighs just 2.2 pounds. That's more than double the weight for basically the same warmth rating. I've been hauling that anchor around for 5 years thinking it was normal. Has anyone else made the switch to a lighter bag and actually noticed the difference on a 2 night trip? I'm trying to decide if the 70 bucks extra is worth it for my back.

Haul that boat anchor a couple more miles and the 70 bucks will seem like a steal.
