Just found out my '4 person' tent is really a 2 person tent and the math is not even close
Did the footprint math on my 8x7 tent last weekend and the usable floor space after the bathtub edges and two sleeping pads is basically a hallway, so who else bought a tent based on the sticker count and got humbled on night one?
Wait, is 8x7 really the floor of a 4 person tent? That sounds more like a 2 person size to me. A true 4 person tent is usually closer to 8x8 or even 9x9, and even then it sleeps 4 only if everyone is on skinny pads and nobody brings a bag inside. My old 4 person Coleman was 9x7 and it fit two wide pads plus a dog, and that was it. So the sticker math is bad, but your tent might also just be labeled wrong on the box.
