I finally stopped getting blisters on my backpacking trips

I used to get blisters every time I went backpacking. Switching to moisture-wicking socks and properly fitting boots made a huge difference. Has anyone else found a specific sock or boot that helped with this?

Forget liner socks, @coray70, toughening your feet through sheer mileage prevents blisters better than any gear.

Oh man, totally! Those two things are like the absolute basics for happy feet. But honestly, taking it one step further and using a liner sock under my hiking sock was the real game changer for me. It cuts down on the rubbing so much. I also make sure to stop and air out my feet at any long break, even if they don't feel sweaty yet. Getting ahead of the moisture is everything, because once a hot spot starts, you're done for.

Airing out feet is key, but I also swap socks at lunch to stay dry.
