How my brother and I used to fight over who got the broken air mattress, and why modern ones are too good for that.

We had this old air mattress with a slow leak that meant someone was on the ground by morning. Now, with self-inflating pads, everyone sleeps fine and there's nothing to argue about. It's better, sure, but I almost miss the nightly debate over who drew the short straw.

That new self-inflating pad is a reliable monster that ruins everything. It completely killed our fun nightly ritual of arguing and plotting. I guess peaceful sleep is the price we pay for no more morning revenge plans.

Man, I feel you @thomaspark. We got one of those pads last season and it did the exact same thing. All those late night whispers about who snored louder were just gone. We had to start playing cards to get that same annoying energy back, but it's not quite the same. That pad just works too well, it's a real fun killer.
