Hit my first 20 night hikes without a headlamp failure

Used to go through those cheap plastic headlamps every three trips because the battery door would crack or the strap would snap. Switched to a Petzl with a proper battery case after my third one died mid-trail at Big Sur last winter, anyone else have a go-to brand that just holds up?

Same pattern with everything now. Nothing's built to last anymore.

Nothing's built to last" hits hard. So true. Planned obsolescence is ruining everything.
