Hit 73 nights in a tent this year and I'm not sure how that happened

I was going through my photo roll last night trying to find a shot of a campsite I liked and realized I had camped 73 nights so far this year. That number caught me off guard because I never set out to hit any kind of goal. It just kind of happened with a bunch of weekend trips and a couple longer stretches in the White Mountains back in July. I remember when 10 nights a year felt like a lot, back when I was using that old coleman dome that weighed a ton. Now I've got a little one person tent that sets up in two minutes and I find myself heading out just to get away from email for a day. Has anyone else looked back at their tally for the year and been surprised by how much time they actually spent out there?

Wait, did I write this post and just forget about it? I hit 48 this year and had no idea until I counted last week. But let's be real, three of those were "sleeping in the tent in the backyard because the AC broke" nights, and another two were me crashing at a campsite but showing up at 11pm after a work thing ran late. So maybe 43 real, legit camping nights. Still, that's way more than I thought, especially considering I once called it a successful weekend cause I managed to not set my tent on fire with my headlamp.

Seventy three nights? Man I cannot even imagine having that much time off work.

Ha, right @kim963? I think most of us would need to win the lottery or get fired just to have that kind of time off! Sixty three nights would be more like it for a normal person, unless you're like a professional vacationer or something. Honestly, even thinking about that much time away from the daily grind makes me stressed about the emails I'd come back to. Must be nice to be that important or that rich, I guess!
